Laryngeal botox injections

Laryngeal botox injections into the vocal folds are used for the treatment of spasmodic dysphonia, a rare condition. In this condition, the muscles in the larynx do not function normally, causing tightness and cramp-like condition in the vocal folds that result in breaks or interruptions in the voice.

Botox can also be used for patients suffering from vocal fold dysfunction if the regimen provided by a speech therapist and doctor does not successfully alleviate the symptoms. Botox injections are administered either through the neck or the nose with a flexible endoscope.
